Solid .925 Sterling Silver Dice

As a young gamer I often dreamed of rolling dice made of precious metals. Of course it would have impressed my friends, but the idea went deeper than that. As we played games pretending to collect silver and gold, I wished I could bring some real silver or gold to the table. But it seemed like nobody made them, and if they did they were prohibitively expensive.

So I had to make my own, and now I can finally offer them to you.

These are standard-sized dice, cast in solid sterling silver. These are not silver-plated knockoffs; each die is .925 sterling silver throughout.

Each order for a single die includes a handmade wooden commemorative box with a full grain leather lining, as pictured. I am happy to laser engrave the box on request (just email info@d20creations.com and include your order number and the phrase you'd like to have engraved).

The complete set of 7 dice includes a hand made full-grain leather pouch to carry them in. The pouch is hand stitched with waxed polyester thread, and is secured with leather lace.

A "standard" sized 20-sided die measures approximately 18mm from one face to the opposite face and 22mm from corner to corner, and weighs approximately one Troy ounce. The other dice are scaled proportionately, and will vary slightly in dimensions and weight.

The numbers are simply oxidized (tarnished) silver. This produces a nice, high contrast for easy reading, while not introducing any foreign substance to the dice, so that they are 100% sterling silver.

Sterling silver consists of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% copper and is commonly used for jewelry which may be subjected to significant wear, such as rings. If these dice were made of pure silver, they would be too soft, and would quickly show dents, scratches and other signs of wear. The small amount of copper in the alloy adds strength, making them suitable for play.
