Hand Tooled Celtic D&D Player's Tote Bag

This hand tooled tote bag is specially designed for gamers that enjoy tabletop roleplaying games, such as Dungeons & Dragons. It is sized to be able to carry several standard-sized rule books, a three-ring binder, and has a side pocket large enough to carry some accessories such as a dice bag, pen and pencil, and a miniature or two.

Two adjustable straps allow you to configure the bag to your own particular needs.

The leather used for both the bag and the straps is full analine, top-grain, 5-ounce pullup leather from Badalassi Carlo, a well known traditional tannery in Italy. It is their top grade, and will take on a beautiful patina with age and use.

The tooling features a stylized 20-sided die, showing 20 on one side and 1 on the other, surrounded by Celtic knots. First the outline was carved using a special leatherworking knife called a swivel knife, and then the impression was stamped with very small tools. Finally the edges were sculpted using a modelling spoon.

After the tooling was complete, the bag was hand stitched using waxed, braided polyester thread. Hand stitched items are of far higher quality than machine stitching. The lockstich produced by a machine is prone to running if a thread should break, because the two threads enter the stitch hole, cross each others' paths, and then return the way they came in. A true saddle stitch, which can only be done by hand, involves passing each thread completely through the hole, which forms an overhand knot within each stitch. As a result, a broken thread won't run, and because both threads pass completely through each hole, the stitching remains secured by the second thread.

Waxed, braided polyester is the best thread that can be used for durable items because polyester won't rot, and the beeswax applied to it helps lock it into place and protects it from wear. Braided polyester is well known for its strength and durability, and is extremely tough.

This bag is guaranteed for life. If the bag ever fails due to workmanship or materials, contact info@d20creations.com and it will be repaired or replaced. (Please note that if the body must be replaced, the tooling will be recovered and transferred to the replacement. If the tooling has been neglected and must be replaced, there will be a charge to cover the cost of the tooling, but no charge for the replacement bag.)
